Part Time Position- Summer Care
The ideal candidate is a compassionate person with experience in working  with preschool children and their families. The assistant will work with the children and other teachers in the room to implement the lessons provided by the school and to follow the daily routine given. The preferred candidate can communicate in both English and Spanish or is willing to use assistive devices to communicate in their non-native language. This position requires the ability to perform self-directed responsibilities and to follow protocols as required by the State of Tennessee and Su Casa Preschool Leadership. The childcare worker will need to move with the children and should be physically capable of being at the child’s level. This includes but is not limited to floor sitting, engaging in active play, kneeling, crawling, rolling, skipping, jumping, dancing, lying on the floor, standing, lifting non-walkers, bending at the waist, squatting, hugging, holding in lap, and sitting in small chairs. The childcare worker will also need to be able to change diapers and assist in potty time as needed. Access to a smartphone to track attendance and use messaging systems is required. While we are hiring currently, summer camp will run from June 2 - August 1, 2025.

Two shifts are available: 
  • Morning Shift:

    • Part Time Weekly- 22.5 hours

    • Monday through Friday, 7:30am - 12:00pm

  • Afternoon Shift:

    • Part Time Weekly- 22.5 hours

    • Monday through Friday, 11:45am - 4:15pm

  • $13 - $15/hour based on experience and qualifications

Part Time Position- Instructional Coach

The ideal candidate is a professional educator with experience in preschool or elementary education. The candidate has experience in coaching or leading teams toward academic excellence, providing engaging professional development sessions, reviewing and improving lesson planning and implementation, and the ability to problem solve. Our preferred candidate will focus on improving teachers-student relationships through positive practices instead of punitive measures and will focus on guiding teachers toward active learning strategies, engaging children through play-based learning. Additionally, the candidate must have an understanding of how to analyze student data and assist teachers in planning based on the results. Because we have teachers who only engage in Spanish or only in English, the candidate will have sufficient knowledge in both languages to be able to lead either group and will be prepared to adapt to the cultural and language needs of the teachers. Curriculum is written primarily in English; a strong ability to read and write in English is required. The candidate must be willing to learn the HighScope curriculum to ensure fidelity throughout the preschool.

 

The candidate must have access to a computer and the ability to work 20+ hours per week; the exact schedule is flexible, with a required weekly 3:00 - 4:00 pm Tuesday teacher training time. There are also occasional scheduled events outside of regular school hours. The candidate must be physically capable of modelling lessons with teachers which can include but is not limited to floor sitting, engaging in active outdoor play, kneeling, crawling, rolling, skipping, jumping, dancing, lying on the floor, standing, lifting non-walkers, bending at the waist, squatting, hugging, holding in lap, and sitting in small chairs. The position also requires a background clearance and other health/safety trainings as required by the State of Tennessee.

 
  • Starting pay $25/hour

  • Part time– 20 hours per week, not to exceed 29 hours in any given week.

  • Schedule created by mutual agreement with the Preschool Director and the Instructional Coach.

  • Preschool teacher meetings are on Tuesdays, 3:15-4:00 pm.

  • Some Su Casa events are required outside of the normal schedule, as noted on the calendar.
